Bulkhead shafts
Description of Design
Dimensioning Shaft mounted between two couplings of extreme high torsional stiffness and of a very low bending rigidity, similar to cardan joints. Coupling-flanges and shaft shrinked together by screwed connections. Shaft rotating in oil-immersed sliding bearings. Shaft sealed by radial sealing ring. Bearings and lube oil enclosed by water jackest. Cooling by separate cooling circuit or by convectional circulation. Bulkhead flange and movable bearing case are connected by a flexible stainless steel bellow.
Delivery Ex works, shafts with documentation for radial and axial excentricity and erection specification. Shaft delivered assembled completely.
Erection Alignment of machines by using master shaft, which will be placed between machine and motor-couplings. Complete shaft will be set and fixed.
Maintenance All parts subject to wear can be inspected or exchanged easily, without necessity to dismantle bulkhead shaft.
